Privacy Policy

Last updated: 6 October 2026

Your privacy matters. This policy explains what personal data we collect through the website nextdecade.ch, why, and the rights you have. Our members' community runs on the Circle platform at community.nextdecade.ch, which has its own privacy policy and cookie notice.

Who is responsible

The data controller for this website is Mags Treanor, operating Next Decade as a sole proprietor, Canton of Lucerne, Switzerland. You can reach us at magstreanor@gmail.com.

Which law applies

We process personal data in line with the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection (revFADP / nDSG) and, where it applies to you, the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

The marketing website (nextdecade.ch)

No analytics or tracking

We do not use Google Analytics, advertising pixels, or any tracking cookies on this website. We do not build profiles of visitors.

Server logs

Our host, Infomaniak Network SA (Switzerland), may automatically record technical data such as your IP address, browser type and the time of each request in server logs, to operate and secure the site.

The Compass self-assessments

The quizzes run entirely in your browser. Your answers and results are not sent to us — they're worked out on your device, and where you choose to save a result it's stored locally in your own browser. You can remove it at any time by clearing your browser data.

Images

Photographs are served from Unsplash. When your browser loads them, Unsplash may receive technical request data such as your IP address, under its own privacy policy.

Joining the community and your account

When you sign up or become a member, your account and the community are provided through Circle (Circle.so). You give data such as your name and email directly to Circle, which processes it to run the service on our behalf, under its own privacy policy and cookie notice.

Payments

Paid memberships are billed through Circle and its payment provider. We do not see or store your full card details.

Newsletter

If you subscribe to The Next Decade newsletter, it is delivered through Substack, which processes your email address under its own privacy policy. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any email.

Search statistics

We use Google Search Console to understand how the site appears in search results. It gives us aggregate statistics only, not information that identifies individual visitors.

Cookies

The marketing website does not set tracking or analytics cookies. Any storage it uses is strictly technical — for example, keeping a quiz result in your browser, which stays on your device. The Circle community uses its own cookies; you will see its cookie banner and policy there.

Transfers outside Switzerland

Some of the providers above (Circle, Substack, Google) are based outside Switzerland and the EU, including in the United States. Where your data is transferred to them, it is done on the basis of the safeguards those providers have put in place.

How long we keep data

We keep community and account data for as long as you are a member and for a reasonable period afterwards where needed for legal or operational reasons. Newsletter data is kept until you unsubscribe.

Your rights

You have the right to access, correct, delete or restrict the processing of your personal data, to object to processing, and to data portability. To exercise any of these, email magstreanor@gmail.com. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Swiss Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner (FDPIC) or, in the EU, your local supervisory authority.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top shows the current version.
